Albert Alvin Owen

Albert Alvin Owen, 85, of Conway, Arkansas, died Wednesday, August 11, 2010, at the VA Hospital in Little Rock. He was born June 15, 1925, in Redfield, Arkansas, a son of the late Joe M. and Charity (Croy) Owen. Mr. Owen was a member of Pickles Gap Baptist Church for over 30 years; and was a 32nd Degree Mason over 50 years. He was retired from the United States Navy, where he was a Master Chief in the submarine service; having served in World War II, the Korean and Vietnam wars He is survived by his wife of sixty-five years, Margaret Jeanette (Ketchum) Owen; children, Michael A. Owen and wife Sherry; Val George and Ted Owen, all of Conway; grandchildren, Cori Henderson and husband Dooley; Owen George; Ty Owen and wife Ariana; Bridgett Chase and husband Paul; Kit Owen and wife Becca; Katie Cure and husband Josh; Jacob and Aowl Owen; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Marie Ashley, Annie Taylor and Myrtle Porter all of Orin; and a number of nephews and nieces. Funeral will be 10 a.m., Saturday, August 14, 2010, in the chapel of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home, Conway, with Ty Owen officiating. Burial, with Masonic and Military honors, will follow at 2 p.m., in Orion Cemetery, under the direction of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home of Conway. 501-327-7727.
