Cordelia Lange

Sister Cordelia Lange, RSM, age 94 of Fort Smith passed away Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at St. Scholastica. John and Louise Lange welcomed Emma Maria into their family May 4, 1916. She attended elementary school in Nazareth, TX. She entered St. Scholastica Convent as a postulant, July 29, 1931 and from that time on she was known as Sister Mary Cordelia. She made her first profession of religious promises June 24, 1924 and began her career as a primary teacher in Paris, Ark. and later she moved to the upper grades. She served as aspirant director at St. Scholastica Academy and assistant Novice Director in the Monastery. In 1987 she retired to St. Scholastica Monastery. Vespers for the dead will be said 7:30 p.m., Thursday, August 12th at St. Scholastica Monastery. The funeral Mass will be 10:30 AM Friday, August 13th at St. Scholastica Monastery with the Father David McKillin officiating. Interment will follow at St. Scholastica Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Fentress Mortuary. Sister Cordelia is survived by one sister; Sister Corrine Lange, who is retired at St. Scholastica in Fort Smith, many nieces, nephews, and her religious Family. She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters and four brothers. In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to St. Scholastica Continuing Care Fund, P.O. Box 3489 Ft.
