HUGH SPECK, 81 of Little Rock went to the Lord on June 11, 2010 at Arkansas Hospice Center in Little Rock. He was born on Oct. 4, 1928 in Auburn, Ind. and was the son of Lenore Stanphill. Hugh was an only child raised in Jacksonville, Ark. and was a retired United States Navy Veteran of 24 years, he also served ten years in the Veteran's Administration Hospital in North Little Rock serving as an educator in various areas of administration, Hugh also worked for many years at Stanphill Criner Furniture Company. Hugh will be remembered for his love of fishing and travel, many of which were trips to Branson to watch the shows he enjoyed, he also loved telling stories of his times and travels with the Navy, living in Italy, West Indies, and New Mexico. He is preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Emilie "Doris" Speck, and his mother Lenore. Survivors include his daughter and son in law Patty and Stephen Sullivan of Bryant; Granddaughter Christy and husband David L.Wright II, and children David Lance Wright III and Sydney Elizabeth Wright; Granddaughter Rebecka and husband Lonnie Solloway Jr. and children Anna-Lee Elizabeth Solloway and Tidus Edward Solloway. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at Huson Funeral Home in Little Rock , burial will follow in the Pinecrest Memorial Park Cemetery.
