Javine Faulkner Blackwood

Javine Faulkner Blackwood, 95 of Paragould, died Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at Belle Meade Healthcare. She was born on August 11, 1914 in Greene County, Arkansas. Mrs. Blackwood formerly owned the Stylerite Shoppe and taught school in Greene County for 25 years. Mrs. Blackwood was a Sunday School teacher at the First Baptist Church, a Past President of B&PW Club, Arkansas Methodist Medical Center Auxiliary, and member of the SENIOR BEES. She was admired for her spunk, her fire for life and her ability to accessorize. She was stylish, unique, fun and interesting. Survivors include nieces and nephews: Bill and Glenda Beasley, Barbra and Gary Renfrow, Rex and Karla Blackwood, Jim and Bonnie Myer all of Paragould, Mackie Ann Tiner of North Little Rock, Arkansas, Laura Jean Williams of Bernalillo, New Mexico, Orb and Peg Crocker of Warner Robbins, Georgia, Kay Don and Ginny Faulkner of Florida, Joe E. and Marilyn Faulkner of Nashville, Tennessee, Judy Bentley of West Plains, Missouri, Lucy Maples of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Nancy and Don Northern of Hermitage, Tennessee, Cloyce Johns of Louisville, Kentucky, Frankie and Harold Gay of Newport, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by: her parents; Jacob G. and Carrie Spillman Blackwood, her husband of many years; Barris Blackwood, two brothers; Hurt Faulkner and Joe T. Faulkner, four sisters; Judson Johns, Laura Bone, Mozelle Blackwood and Lucile Wood Cupp. Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, June 26, 2010 at the Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel with Joe Marsden officially, burial will follow in Linwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday at the Mitchell Funeral Home.
