Rhoma M. Callison

Rhoma M. Callison, 85, of Benton, passed away November 18, 2010. She was born November 30, 1924 in Fort Towson, Oklahoma to the late William and Bernice Fodge. Rhoma was a school teacher for 15 years and was the assistant dietician for Riley Oakhill Manor for 13 years. She was a member of Jacksonville First Baptist Church. Rhoma was preceded in death by her parents and son, Louis W. Callison and husband, William Callison. Survivors, sister, Mary Catton of Benton, daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Callison, granddaughter, Ashley Callison and cousins, Joe Bill Brewer and wife, Joan of Bethel Island, California, Mary "Butch" Brewer of Las Vegas, Nevada, Jimmy Brewer of Hot Springs, Ark., Sondra Blankenship and husband, Tom of Rockdale, Illinois and Norma Bruce of Arlington, Texas. Pallbearers will be Don Carter, Jimmy Dublin, Bobby Coatney, Terry Brumbelow, Jimmy Catton and Bud Gates. Honorary Pallbearers will be Lloyd Elliott and A.C. Paxton. Graveside services by Ashby Funeral Home will be 10 a.m., Monday with Bro. Kim Hammer officiating at Pine Crest Cemetery. Visitation will be at Ashbys, Sunday, 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. Family comments: Rhoma was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and friend. She has some very special friends and caregivers, Freda Carter, Marsha Claunch, the Lloyd Elliott family and Ann Clayton.
