Joanne Malmquist Scott

Joanne Malmquist Scott of Bowling Green died at 5 a.m. Friday, Sept. 3, 2010, at her home after a long struggle with Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, resulting in congestive heart failure and other complications. A Chicago area native and a long-time Little Rock, Ark., resident, Joanne retired as vice-president of Southern Skies, a radio broadcast group headquartered in Little Rock. She moved to Bowling Green in 2003 and found a home at Broadway United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Crusader's Class and Sisters in Christ small group. In addition to her other activities Joanne tutored/mentored at T.C. Cherry Elementary School. A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2010, at Broadway United Methodist Church. Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to CASA of South Central Kentucky, P.O. She is survived by her son, Dr. Gregg A. Malmquist and his wife, Rina of Bowling Green; her daughter, Brenda Malmquist of Mabelvale, Ark.; a sister, Mary Brown and her husband, Wayne of Little Rock, Ark.; a brother, Art Meganck and his wife, Terry of Overland Park, Kan.; three grandchildren, Jacob, Annie and Nicholas Malmquist; and beloved nieces and nephews.
