Joanne Malmquist Scott

Joanne Malmquist Scott of Bowling Green died at 5 a.m. Friday, Sept. 3, 2010, at her home after a long struggle with Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, resulting in congestive heart failure and other complications. A Chicago area native and a long-time Little Rock, Ark., resident, Joanne retired as vice-president of Southern Skies, a radio broadcast group headquartered in Little Rock. She moved to Bowling Green in 2003 and found a home at Broadway United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Crusader's Class and Sisters in Christ small group. In addition to her other activities Joanne tutored/mentored at T.C. Cherry Elementary School. A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2010, at Broadway United Methodist Church. Malmquist and his wife, Rina of Bowling Green; her daughter, Brenda Malmquist of Mabelvale, Ark.; a sister, Mary Brown and her husband, Wayne of Little Rock, Ark.; a brother, Art Meganck and his wife, Terry of Overland Park, Kan.; three grandchildren, Jacob, Annie and Nicholas Malmquist; and beloved nieces and nephews.
