Zilpah (Zip) Butler Steed

Zilpah (Zip) Butler Steed, age 87, of Benton died Monday, September 13, 2010 in Hot Springs. She was born August 16, 1923 in Natchez, Mississippi. Zip was a long time active member of the Saline Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Trace Creek Ladies Golf Association, and an avid Bridge player. She was a Member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church and was very active in the establishment of the parish of Our Lady of Fatima Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Noel Butler Sr. and Gladys Berdon Butler, husband, James Steed Sr., son, James (Jim) Steed Jr., brother, Noel Butler Jr. Survivors, sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Kay Steed, Hot Springs; Walter and Donna Steed, Houston, Texas; sister, Margaret Burrell, Benton; ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Services will be 10 a.m., Friday at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church with burial at Old Rosemont Cemetery. Rosary services will be at 6 p.m., Thursday at Ashby's Chapel.
