Lillian Jean "Cookie" Stephens, 77, of Guy passed away Monday, September 27, 2010. She was born March 24, 1933 in Little Rock to the late John David Sanders and Elsie Heuer Salmonat. A retired bookkeeper and member of Copperas Spring Baptist Church in Guy, an avid gardner and lover of fine antiques and orphaned dogs, of family history and current events. She is survived by her husband, Edward L. Stephens; her daughter, Sherri Jacqulene McCutcheon and husband John of Fayetteville; and her sons, J. Michael Walker and wife Mimi Carrasco Walker of Los Angeles, Calif.; Ed L. Stephens Jr. and wife Barbara of Georgia, David Wayne Stephens and wife Florene of Guy and Larry James Stephens and wife Krista of Greenbrier; by her grandchildren Robyn Elizabeth Wessels of Philadelphia, Jacobo Carrasco Walker of Los Angeles, David Wayne Stephens Jr. of Guy, Wesley Thomas Stephens of Guy, Lora Michelle Stephens of Guy, Samatha Jean Stephens of Guy and Michael and Kalina Young of Greenbrier; and by her seven great-grandchildren. Cookie was preceded in death by her beloved siblings Carl, Elizabeth, Donald, Gretchen, J.D. and Marie; and by her grandchild Zachary James Stephens. Services are 10 a.m. Friday, October 1, 2010 at Copperas Springs Baptist Church in Guy with Bro. Gary Burdin and Bro. Terry Parrish officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery in Little Rock. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Greenbrier. In lieu of flowers, and in keeping with her love of helping others, Ms. Stephens has requested that donations be made to Doctors without Borders, UNICEF, World Vision or CARE.
