Charlene Eunice Hollinger Smith of Sheridan, Ark., was born Feb. 14, 1934 in the Sweet Home community of Prattsville, Ark., the daughter of the late Charlie and Maude Corley Hollinger. She was a member of First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Sheridan, was an accomplished pianist and organist who loved gospel music. She was a graduate of Prattsville High School and the University of Arkansas in Little Rock with a bachelors degree of arts. Mrs. Smith died April 14, 2011 at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock at the age of 77. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Chaplain Jearl Smith. Survivors: son, Jonathan and wife Bobbi Jo Smith of Sheridan; sister, Genyce and husband Joe Pumphrey of Prattsville; grandchildren, Griffin and Rachel Smith of Sheridan and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday April 18, 2011 at First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Sheridan with Bro. John Saunders, Bro. Ken Ashlock, Bro. Shawn Hill and Bro. Gary Copeland officiating. Burial will follow at Philadelphia Cemetery in Prattsville. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Randy Mooney, Leonard Hollinger, Bro. Don Goodman, John Herbert Ashcraft, Robert Earl Mooney and J.R. Ritchey.
