Nathan Luke Shaw

Nathan Luke Shaw 32, of Phenix City, Ala., passed away Tuesday April 12, 2011. He was born June 15, 1978 at Springdale, Ark., to Tom and JoBeth (Burnett) Shaw. SGT Shaw started his military career in Fayetteville, Ark., attached to the Army Reserve 362nd Psychological Operations Company later going Active Army. SGT Shaw attended Combat Medic training at Fort Sam Houston, Texas in 2007. At the time of his death, SGT Shaw was a Combat Medic assigned to the 690th Ground Ambulance Company at Fort Benning, Ga. SGT Shaw deployed twice to Afghanistan and once to Iraq. Among the many awards SGT Shaw received are the Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Combat Action Badge, NATO Medal and Parachutist Badge. He is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Dick Shaw of Marshall, Ark; and Eugene Burnett of Clinton, Ark. He is survived by his wife, Shelby Rose (Sellars) Shaw, parents, Tom and JoBeth Shaw of Springdale, Ark.; one sister, Kati Beth Scott and husband Donnie of Dahlonega, Ga.; nephew, Coti James Becknel Scott of Dahlonega, Ga.; one brother, Derek Thomas Shaw and fiance Kate Chamberlain of Clinton, Ark.; and his grandmothers, Ruth Shaw of Marshall, Ark.; and Hazel Burnett of Clinton, Ark.: and many friends and relatives. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday April 17, 2011 at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home Chapel Clinton, Ark. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Monday April 18, 2011 at First Baptist Church Clinton, Ark., with Pastor Ricky Burroughs officiating. Burial will follow at Clinton Cemetery with United States Army Military Honors. A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday April 19, 2011 at Elmdale Baptist Church Springdale, Ark.
