Odell McPherson

Odell McPherson, 80, of North Little Rock was born April 22, 1930 in Pulaski county, Arkansas to Walter and Ada Moore McPherson. He passed away on April 14, 2011 in North Little Rock. Odell loved listening to and singing gospel music. He graduated from North Little Rock High School in 1948. He was a long time member of Trinity United Methodist Church, formerly Rose City United Methodist Church, where he taught Sunday School for many years. He had a long career in the heating and air conditioning business, having worked for the Frank Lyon Company, 555 Inc., Payne Company, Ed's Supply, was part owner of Baileys AC Supply and was owner of the John Lynn Company until he retired. He thoroughly enjoyed his work, but his greatest joy in life was his family especially playing cards with his grandkids. Odell is survived by his wife of over 60 years Cathryn McPherson; his children Randy McPherson and his wife Pam of Conway, and Sheila McGuire and her husband Lynn of North Little Rock; a brother Clifford McPherson and his wife Jeanie of Jacksonville; his grandchildren Geoffrey McPherson and his wife Lindsey of Liberty, Ky., Peter McPherson of Austin, Texas, Hayley Frye and her husband Jason of North Little Rock, Scott McPherson of Travelers Rest, S.C., Kelsey Hays and her husband Neil of North Little Rock and Will McPherson and his wife Keri of Santa Fe, N.M.; great grandchildren Ellerie, Owen and Everett Hays and Houston Frye, a great grandchild who is due in December, and many nieces and nephews. He loved being known as "Da" to his children, grandchildren and many of their friends. Memorials may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis foundation or to Baptist Hospice. Services will be held Monday April 18, 2011 at 10 a.m., in the chapel of Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home at 7724 Landers Road in North Little Rock, 501.835.3515 with visitation on Sunday April 17, 2011 from 2– 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
