Wallace Wilcox, 79, of Conway, Arkansas, died Thursday, April 21, 2011, at Conway Health Care and Rehabilitation. He was born January 23, 1932, in the Pleasant Valley Community, a son of the late Ed and Velma (Hiett) Wilcox. He was also preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Ed Wilcox Jr., Bill Wilcox, Montine Purkey, and Bonnie Cantrell. Wallace graduated from Greenbrier High School and was a member of Second Baptist Church in Conway. He was a cattle farmer from age 6. He was a member of the Cattleman's Association, Farm Bureau, the State of Arkansas Beef Council and was chosen Farm Family of the Year in 1976. He also served on the Conway School Board and was a United States Air Force Veteran. He is survived by his wife Sandra (McCutcheon) Wilcox; children, Ed Wilcox and wife, Angie of Humble, Texas; Julie Jacobson and husband, Iver of Russellville; a sister, Nina Webb of Conway; grandchildren, Lauren, Bailey, Allie and Peyton Wilcox; Emily, David and Rob Jacobson; as well as a number of nephews and nieces. Funeral will be 10 a.m., Monday, April 25, 2011, at Second Baptist Church with Drs. Mark Dance and Stan Young officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, under the direction of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home of Conway. 501-327-7727. Visitation will be 9 a.m. until service time, at the church.
