Dr. Marvin Maurice Traylor, 81, passed away at his home in Marion, Ark on April 26, 2011 from gastric cancer. A well-known chiropractic physician who practiced in Helena since 1968, with offices in West Memphis and Forrest City, he was two-time president of Arkansas Chiropractic Assn. Dr. Traylor was a member of the Board of the Helena/West Helena Church of the Nazarene and was active in his church, leading singing on Sunday and teaching adult Sunday School, and loved to fly his airplane, garden, and take care of his business interests in Helena. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Eloise (Dollar) Traylor, of the home, and his son, Dr. Wm. M. Traylor and his wife Deborah, of Marion. He was preceded in death by his father, Aaron Traylor, his mother, Bessie (Huling) Traylor, his brother, Robert E. Lee "Bob" Traylor, and his son Jeffrey K. Traylor. Among Dr. Traylor's surviving family are his sister, Shirley (Traylor) Bickerstaff and her husband Jimmy, of Moro, Ark., brother Wayne Traylor and wife Lea of Moro, brother Carl Traylor and wife Mary of Clarksville, Ark., brother Clyde Traylor and wife Anna of Clarksville, brother Dwight Traylor and wife Linda, of Cabot, Ark., and a sister-in-law, Alta Huling of Birchtree, Mo.. Dr. Traylor is also survived by five grandchildren, Amy (Traylor) Oswalt and husband Chris, of Forrest City, Chris Traylor and wife Melissa, of Madison, Ark., Cole Traylor of Pennsylvania, Jon Reese Traylor of Sherwood, Ark., and Laura Beth Traylor of Fayetteville, Ark., as well as three great-grandchildren, Timothy Traylor of Marion and Zachary Oswalt and Katy Oswalt of Forrest City. The family would like to thank all of the pastors who came and prayed with Dr. Traylor during his illness, as well as all their congregations that prayed: Brother Al Ward of Helena/West Helena Church of the Nazarene (who will officiate the funeral service), Rev. David Moseley and Rev. Sheila Jones of West Memphis First United Methodist Church, Pastor Jim Harrison of Faith Outreach Church, Brother Joe Garner of the Baptist Association, Rev. Charles Shipman of Calvary Baptist, Rev. Scott Schiendler of Broadmoor Baptist in Brinkley, Rev. and Mrs. Kenneth Harmon of United Pentecostal Church, West Helena. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Legacy Hospice of Osceola, Ark. In appreciation of their loving and supportive care, especially nurse Debbie. Funeral services will be held at Roller Citizens Funeral Home in Helena on Friday, April 29 at 10 a.m. Graveside services will follow at Sunset Cemetery.
