Josephine M. Narisi DeRienzo

Josephine M. Narisi DeRienzo died Tuesday, August 9th, 2011 at McLeod Hospice House, following a brief illness. She was born in Ft. Smith, Arkansas the daughter of the late Joseph and Virginia Pizzitola Narisi. She was predeceased by her husband, Pat H. DeRienzo. She was survived by her son, J. Michael (Vivian) DeRienzo of Florence, and a grandson Capt. Joseph M. (Jamie) DeRienzo of Dayton, Ohio. Growing up in Fort Smith, Arkansas, Josephine had two sisters, Madeline Stephens and Mary Evans, and two brothers, Johnny Narisi and Joseph Narisi. Josephine graduated from St. Ann's Academy, Fort Smith, Arkansas, and moved to St. Louis, Missouri to marry Pat H. DeRienzo who was in the U.S. Army Air Corps. They resided in Michigan, Oklahoma and other locations for his various jobs in sales. She was a devoted and loving homemaker. From 1945, following World War II, through 1995, she and Pat lived in St. Louis, Missouri, raising their son, whom they affectionately referred to as "Mickey." Following Pat's death, she moved to Florence to be near her son and grandson. Josephine was an active member of Cure' of Ars Catholic Church in Webster Groves, Missouri and of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Florence. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
