James Forte

Pastor James L.E. Forte', 40, of Little Rock, went home to be with the Lord Saturday November 26, 2011. He was Pastor of the Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church #3 on Springer Blvd. A graduate of J.A. Fair High School in Little Rock, Ark. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in social work from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff in 1996. Pastor Forte' served as Youth Pastor at St. Mark Baptist Church under the leadership of Senior Pastor Bishop Steven M. Arnold for five years. He served as Senior Pastor of New Jerusalem Baptist Church in Pine Bluff, Arkansas for six years and lastly as Interim Pastor and lately elected Pastor of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in 2011. Pastor Forte' was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and one nephew. He leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Ketha Forte'; two sons, Andre Ware and Avery Forte'; devoted dad, Waverly R. Jones; mother-in-law, Mrs. Frances Gray; one great-aunt, Mrs. Annie M. Floyd of Fargo, Ark.; one brother, Cedric W. Jones; one sister, Lavenia M. Jones, both of Little Rock; three brothers-in-law, Jarrod (Denea) Gray; Cedrick and Dedrick Gray of Chicago, Ill., Melvin (Charlotte) Floyd, Almos Saine of Little Rock, Keith and David Saine both of Detroit, Mich. and Willie G. (Betty) of Forrest City; 12 aunts, Joan and Barbara Forte' of Schaumburg, Ill., Yvonne Dennis, Brenda Floyd, Janice, Magnolia (Leon) Sanford, Sherrand and Jackie of Toledo, Ohio, Evelyn of Detroit, Mich., Joyce and Geraldine of Forrest City, and Opal A. Floyd of Oklahoma, Okla.; a host special nieces and nephews; a multitude of relatives, friends and dearly beloved Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church #3 Congregation. Family hour: 5-7 p.m., Friday at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, 3801 Springer Blvd., Little Rock and Funeral Service: 1 p.m., Saturday at St. Mark Baptist Church, 5722 W. 12th, Little Rock, Pastor Al Romes, officiating.
