James A. Hurst

James Andrew Hurst, 70, of Thornburg died at his home on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011. He was born July 1, 1941, at Lake Sylvia Girl Scout Camp in Perry County, a son of Nolen Andrew Hurst and Jewel Athelean Blythe Hurst. Throughout his life, James was a dedicated son, husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was also a U.S. Navy Veteran. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Norma Sue Kristofik Hurst and two daughters, Jennifer Lynn Hurst of Thornburg and Jessica Marie Bradford (Matthew) of Conway. He also has two grandchildren, Naomi Danielle Hurst and Boston Andrew Bradford. He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as a daughter, Andrea Ellen Hurst; one sister, Jessie B. Hurst Graves; and one brother, Joe Preston Hurst. The family will have a private memorial service to be held at a later date. Arrangements by Harris Funeral Home of Perryville.
