William Brandon Lincoln Strain, 96, of Pocahontas, died at 7:49 p.m., Saturday, December 3, 2011. He was born February 12, 1915 in Le Roy, Illinois to the late William F. and Leah Overmire Strain. Mr. Strain was a retired Master Sergeant, having joined the U.S. Army, then transitioning to the Army Air Corps and then the United States Air Force. After his retirement, he worked at the Cabot Post Office for many years. He enjoyed baseball, reading, fishing, feeding the birds, and loved animals, especially dogs. He liked his time at the Beebe Retirement Center, and in 2010 he chose to live in Pocahontas, with the Jacoby family, David, Rachel, Jonathon, Garrin, and Jaylee, until his death. In addition to his parents, William Brandon was preceded in death by his wife, Lena A. (Patricia) Bush Strain and his sister, Wilma Louise Strain. He is survived by his nephew, Scott Strehlow, niece, Leah Strehlow, and niece, Jane Beavers, great-nephew, Bud Heck, great-nieces, Brenda Glover and Shelly Wilson, great-great-nephews, Joe Heck, Brad Heck, and Trey Wexler, and great-great-nieces, Christy Boggs Raney, Amanda Boggs Dunn, Megan Wexler, and Michael Wilson.
