Joyce Rice Phillips Woodard, 86, of North Little Rock, went to be with the Lord, December 6, 2011. She was born March 22, 1925, in Quitman, Arkansas, to the late K.A. and Millie (Holliman) Rice. She was a member of Cedar Heights Baptist Church, in NLR. Prior to that she was a member of Flat Rock Missionary Baptist Church where she was a children's Sunday School teacher. Mrs. Woodard was a phenomenal caregiver. She was motivated by her great love for people and her desire to have them come to know the Lord. Anyone with a need could come to her for help. She was generous with her time and shared what she had. She enjoyed hunting, fishing and visiting with family and friends. She is preceded in death by husband Bill Woodard; sisters, Ermidean Metzger and Leona Keathley; brothers, Nalda, John, and Earl Rice; and grandsons, Vancel and Nathan Phillips. Mrs. Woodard is survived by children, Dewayne Phillips (Naomia), Carolyn Bateman, Jim Phillips (Lynne), and Charlotte Bland; sister, Lenora Holliman; grandchildren, Stephen Bateman, Valarie Wood, Bridget Phillips, Donna Sweet, Jacob Davis, Lindsey King, and Heath Bland; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Friday, December 9, 2011, at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home, in Conway. Mrs. Woodard's funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, December 10, 2011, in the Chapel of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home, with Bro. Charlie Winters officiating. Burial will follow in Flat Rock Cemetery in Quitman. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to: Cedar Heights Baptist Church Building Fund, 14510 Cedar Heights Road, NLR, Ark. 72118.
