Ernest John Mathew Miller

Ernest John Mathew Miller, age 81, of Little Rock, Arkansas died unexpectedly in his sleep on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at his home. He was born on February 26, 1930 in St. Vincent, Arkansas as the first born child of the late Simon and Elizabeth Miller. On February 23, 1957, he married his lovely wife Anita (Lannie) Miller and was a United States Air Force Veteran having served in the Korean War. Ernest was a devoted worker at Coleman Dairy for more than 40 years and he was a parishioner and usher at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church for more than 50 years. He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers William and James. He is survived by his wife Anita; six children, Regina Balsam (Robert), Barbara Illich (Vernon), Yvonne Fippen (William), Ernest Miller (Michele), Mariam Hopkins (George) and Paul Miller (Karen); two sisters, Margaret and Sister Stephanie; 13 grandchildren, Eric, Bobbi, Candice, Elizabeth, Dale, Natalie, EmmaLee Lannie, Clayton, Jacob, Chelsea, Brooke and Kristen; and six great-grandchildren, Alex, Trey, Luke, Dalton, Reyse and Devin. A Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m., Thursday, December 15, 2011 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church. A rosary will be 6 p.m., followed by a visitation at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth Funeral Home, 5800 W. 12th. St., Little Rock, Ark. (501) 661-9111.
