Edwin Earl Walden

Edwin Earl Walden, 91, of Griffithville, passed from this life on Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011. He was born Sept. 24, 1920, in Walker, Ark., to Shirley and Nell Woods Walden. Mr. Walden was an Army veteran, having served during World War II. His parents and two brothers precede him in death. Survivors include his beloved wife of 65 years, Sada Ellis Walden; son, James E. Holt, of Griffithville; daughter, Joy (Lee) Minyard, of Fort Pierce, Fla.; two sisters, Ruby Jones, of Cabot, Eunabee (Marion) Carroll, of Cabot; brother, James (Dorothy) Walden; five grandchildren, Lyle (Barbara) Minyard; Mark (Jackie) Minyard; Karen (Mike) Szymanski; Elaine (Tony) Pence; Steven (Paula) Holt; 10 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 18, 2011, at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home. Services will be 2 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at White County Memorial Gardens. The family wishes to thank the staff at Hospice Home Care for all the support and care given.
