Bro. James R. Walker, age 91, of Benton, passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2011. He was born on July 12, 1920 in Ouachita, Ark. to the late George and Kate (Key) Walker. Bro. Walker served as pastor at First Assembly of God in Benton for 16 years and later served as pastor at Otter Creek Assembly of God for 30 years. He was a WWII Army Veteran and loved to fish and hunt. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Edna (Nichols) Walker of Benton; three sons, Ron and wife, Debra Walker of Sarasota, Fla., Mike and wife, Janet Walker of Strafford, Mo., and Steve and wife, Betty Walker of Cabot; one sister, Emma Joe Hoskin of Memphis, Tenn.; one brother, Floyd Walker and wife, Betty of Camden; five grandchildren, Sean, Brent, Sarah, Kenon, and Kevin Walker, and three great-grandchildren, Ellie Sparanzini, Sean, Sophie, and Lillian Walker. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 31, 2011 at Otter Creek Assembly of God, 9415 Stagecoach Road, Little Rock, Ark. 72209 with Pastor John Tracy, Bro. Carroll Brown, Bro. Scott Knight, and Bro. Bruce Smithson officiating. Interment will follow in New Rosemont Memorial Park in Benton. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, December 30, 2011 at Roller-Ballard Funeral Home in Benton (501-315-4047). Memorials may be made in Bro.
