Emile "Pete" Maxwell

Emile "Pete" Maxwell, 76, of Cabot died Sunday, February 13, 2011. He was born February 4, 1935 in Parkdale to the late John and Willie Allison Maxwell. Mr. Maxwell joined the United States Army at the age of 17 and served his country in Vietnam and in Thailand. Prior to his retirement in 1975, he served as part of the Presidential Helicopter unit. Following his career in the military, Mr. Maxwell became an electrician and owned and operated his own company and retired again in 1994. In addition to his parents, Mr. Maxwell was preceded in death by a daughter, Melinda Maxwell, a sister, Florene McLoed and brothers, Wayne, Raymond, Hubert and George Harold Maxwell. Mr. Maxwell is survived by his wife of 54 years, Christine Riedl Maxwell, his children, Bobby Maxwell of Cabot, Thomas Allen Maxwell of Ward and Shirley Ann McClain of Mississippi and his brothers, Robert and John Henry Maxwell. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; Brian Maxwell, Leann Kret, Jonathan McClain, Joshua McClain, Drew Bailey, Bobby Jo Bailey and Whitney Smith as well as four great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, February 16, 2011 in the chapel of Moore's Cabot Funeral Home with burial to follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery.
