Junior Lee Barger

Junior Lee Barger, 78, of Ward, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord February 15, 2011. He was born in Lonoke County to Oscar and Edna Cook Barger. Junior served in the Navy from 1955 to 1957. He worked at Freshour Construction for forty-five years where he served as Superintendent and Vice President. After retirement from Freshour, he started Barger Excavating, where he worked for the past 16 years. He was a lifelong member of Ward First Baptist Church. Junior is survived by his wife of 53 years, Doris (Weaver) Barger; three sons, Nicholas (Lisa) Barger and their son Alex, Stephen (Lori) Barger, Michael (Amy) Barger and their sons Peyton and Hayes; one daughter, Tina Barger (Todd) McCall and their children Morgan and Christian McCall; three sisters, Lois Sentell, Louise Whaley Shepherd, Mae Faulkner; one brother, Doyle Barger; one special brother-in-law, Darrell Weaver; and a host of friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Lorene Guyot, and one brother, Dearl Barger. Family will receive friends from 6: to 8 p.m., Thursday at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday, February 18, 2011, at Ward First Baptist Church, with burial in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens.
