Celia F. Dodson Hudson Johnson, 81, of Salisbury, Maryland died Friday, February 18, 2011 of Parkinson's disease with lewy body dementia. She was the daughter of the late Henry and Frankie Dodson of Alamo, Tenn. Celia was born in Alamo on December 3, 1929. She graduated Valedictorian from Alamo High School, just as her three siblings did before her, and again as Valedictorian from Methodist School of Nursing in Memphis, Tenn. Her career included clinic and hospital nursing in Memphis and, in 1986, she retired as Administrator of the Craighead County Public Health Department in Jonesboro, Ark. after two decades of service. Celia was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Salisbury and was involved with many church committees and activities. She was most proud of her volunteer work and her many friends at the Opportunity Shop, where she spent many hours. She and her husband, R.P. "Jack" Johnson, who also helped out at the shop celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary this past Valentine's Day. Her parents, as well as her brother, David Dodson, and sister, Dorothy Dodson, predeceased her. Her survivors include her husband, her brother, William H. Dodson, and his wife, Elsie, of Knoxville, Tenn., and her sister-in-law, Doris Dodson of Galveston, Texas. She leaves behind her two daughters and sons-in-law, Beth and Bill Ingram of Little Rock, Ark. and Gwen and James Dulin of Wynne, Ark.; four grandchildren, Casey (Emily) Ingram of Little Rock, Jon (Alexis) Wilson of Branson, Mo., Jason Wilson of Memphis, and Madison Dulin of Wynne; and two great-grandchildren, Kate and Fuller Ingram of Little Rock. She also leaves three stepchildren, Paula Johnson of Delaware, Jackie and Mark Rush of Maryland, and Debbie and John Kindred of Pennsylvania, two step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandsons. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury, family and friends may call one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Dr. Robert Harris will officiate. Interment will be in Alamo, Tenn. at a later date.
