Irma Bookout Thomason

Mrs. Irma Bookout Thomason, 96, died on February 23, 2011. She was born in Rector, Ark. on June 18, 1914. Irma was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Rev. Elmo A. Thomason. Also preceding her were her parents Simon Bookout and Finer Wagner Bookout, her nine siblings; and her foster grandson, Philip A. Bookout. Survivors include her son, Dr. Dana A. Thomason and his wife Martha of Russellville, her grandson Jonathan M. Thomason of Alexandria, Va. and his mother Catherine Pierce Thomason of Conway. Also surviving are her foster son, Simon D. Bookout and wife Paula of Little Rock, granddaughter, Amy Bookout Christie, husband David and great-grandchildren, Nicholas Philip Christie and Olivia Margaret Christie of Waltham, Mass. She is also survived by sister-in-law Glenna Bookout of Rector and several nieces and nephews. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to First United Methodist Church in Conway, Ark. Graveside services will be conducted 10 a.m., Friday, February 25th, at Woodland Heights Cemetery, Rector with Edward Pruett officiating.
