Boyce "Bo" Cope

Boyce "Bo" Cope, age 70, of White Hall, died Friday, July 22, 2011, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. Mr. Cope was born July 23, 1940, in Woodlawn, a son of the late Claude and Cloma Dixon Cope. Mr. Cope was reared and educated in Woodlawn, where he attended the Woodlawn schools. He was a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church and worked for Interstate Landscaping for 47 years, retiring as forman. Mr. Cope enjoyed spending time with both family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Marie Turpen Cope, whom he married Aug. 1, 1964, in Memphis, Tenn. and a brother, Bobby Henderson and son-in-law, Joe Miller. Mr. Cope is survived by two sons, Chris (Marti) Cope of Jacksonville and Boyce "Bobo" (Sharon) Cope of Pine Bluff; four daughters, Shelly (Shawn) Griffin of Jacksonville, Tracy (Victor) Dickson of Pine Bluff, Denise Miller of Dewitt, Rhonda (Brooks) Sanders of Monticello; two brothers, Donald Cope of Rison and Kenneth Cope of Missouri; two sisters, Anna Bell Locke of Mississippi and Ruthie Lee Breech of Pine Bluff; 10 grandchildren and five great grandchildren and his companion, Vicki Kendrick of Pine Bluff. Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 26, 2011, at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors with Reverend Brooks Sanders officiating. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Robinson's Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials may take the form of contributions to Hospice Home Care, 3063 West 28th Avenue, Pine Bluff, Ark. 71603.
