Jewell Osborne Dykes

Jewell Osborne Dykes, 88, of Searcy, formerly of Harrison, left this world to be with her Lord Monday, July 25, 2011. She was born November 21, 1922 in Burkburnett, Tezxas the daughter of the late Dee and Ida Rylee. She was a member of College Church of Christ. She was a resident of Boone County since 1947, a beautician for 52 years and former owner/operator of Kut and Kurl Beauty Shop in Harrison and Beauty Time Salon in Bellefonte. She is survived by her husband, Jay Dykes; a son, Pruitt Osborn and wife Carolyn; a step-son, Donald Dykes and wife Sharon; two grandsons, Clark Osborn and wife Tawyna and Criston Osborn and wife Maudie; four great-grandchildren, Baron, Vivian, Suzannah and Courtney Osborn; brother, Dee Rylee and wife Anna; sister, Eileen Sain; sister-in-law, Jean Russell; nieces, Susie Gregory, Pat Daniels and husband Bert, Mona Wilson and husband Rick; nephews, Shan Gregory, Jerry Don Sain and wife Nickie, Jeff Rylee and Kent Rylee and wife Amy. She was preceded in death by her parents, twin brother, sister and grandson, Craig. Jewell was a member of Order of the Eastern Start Electa Chapter 29 of Bellefonte. She was Worthy Matron several times, Grand Electa of Grand Chapter Order of Eastern Star in 1996 and Grand Representative of Idaho, as well as Deputy Grand Electa to District 4. She was a kind and gentle lady who had a host of friends who loved her, always had a big smile and will be missed by everyone. Visitation will be Wednesday, 6-8 pm, Powell Funeral Home of Searcy. Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m., Bellefonte Church of Christ in Bellefonte, Ark. Interment will follow at the Maplewood Cemetery in Harrison.
