Tandy Doice Jones

Tandy Doice Jones, age 76, of Perryville, devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2011. He was born October 23, 1934, in Hollis, Arkansas, a son of Thomas Jefferson Jones and Ruby Alma Humphreys Jones. He was an army veteran, owner of Tandy Jones Backhoe Service, member of First Baptist Church of Oppelo, former Deacon of Temple Missionary Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Perryville, and a member of Perry County Cattlemen's Association. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Athalene "Hawks" Jones; two sons, Cliff Jones (Brandi), and Brent Jones (Gwen) all of Perryville; brother, Junior Jones (Barbara) of Hollis; sister, Grace Whiley of Arkhoma, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Cade, Sydney, Tate, Jeffrey, Gracie, and Justin Jones; special friend, Tex Maness. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, July 29, 2011, at Perryville First Baptist Church with Bro. Jimmy Scott, Bro. Eddie Powers, and Bro. Gene Tanner officiating. Burial will be at Nooner Cemetery near Hollis by Harris Funeral Home of Perryville. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home in Perryville.
