Charles Fredrick Kennedy, 84, of Little Rock died Wednesday, July 27, 2011. He was born on October 5, 1926 and was preceded in death by his son, Bill Kennedy. Before attending college, Charles served four years in the Marines during World War II. After graduating from Henderson State Teachers College, he coached in Stuttgart and Bauxite before moving to Little Rock with his family in 1959. He remained there until his retirement from Little Rock Public School District in 1987. Best known as "Coach", Charles spent all but two years of his 30 year coaching career at the junior high level. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Imogene Kennedy, a daughter, Ann Kennedy of Little Rock, and his brother Verdon Kennedy and wife Patsy of Fordyce. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, July 30, 2011 in the chapel of Roller-Ballard Funeral Home (315-4047) with Dr. Rick Grant officiating. A time of visitation will follow the service. A private interment will be held at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander. The family wishes to thank his caregivers at Baptist Health Rehab, Briarwood Nursing Center, and Arkansas Hospice. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 211 S.
