John Beckworth, 91, of Hernando, Miss., formerly of Little Rock, Ark., passed away July 27, 2011. Mr Beckworth was retired from Campbell Soup, and later the US Postal Service. Mr. Beckworth was a veteran of WWII, serving as a sergeant in the US Army. He was a member of the American Legion. He leaves his beloved wife of 66 years, Kathleen (Kay) Black Beckworth, 2 sons, Dennis Beckworth and his wife Linda, Anchorage Alaska, and Mark Beckworth and his wife Linda Cogburn Beckworth, from Hernando, Miss., nieces Emogene Wetherington, North Little Rock, Ark., Linda Ann Lewis, Satsuma, Ala. He leaves grandchildren, Kiri Stilwell, Anchorage, Alaska, Robert Whiteaker, Durant, Oklahoma, Kyle Beckworth, St. Peters, Mo.; great-grandchildren, Kaden and Taylor Stilwell, Anchorage, Alaska, Robert Whiteaker, Durant, Oklahoma, and Layla Whiteaker, Okinawa Japan. Mr. Beckworth was born in Hope, Arkansas, and attended Hope High School. Funeral Service will be at Life Line Baptist Church, 7601 Baseline Road, Little Rock, Arkansas at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 30, 2011. Interment will be follow Pinecrest Memorial Park, 7401 Highway 5 North, Alexander Arkansas, under the direction of Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth, 5800 W. 12th Street, Little Rock, Arkansas. 501-661-9111.
