Manuel Eaton

Manuel Eaton, 94, of Rector passed away July 28, 2011 at the Rector Nursing and Rehab. He was born August 13, 1916 to the late Earl and Lettie (Maricle) Eaton in Rienzi, Mississippi. Manuel served as a life long deacon at his church and was a honorary deacon at the Mo-Ark Association. He was a farmer and a very proud grandpa. Preceding Manuel in death was his parents, his wife, Laura (Berry) Eaton, two brothers: Hollis and Cecil Eaton and four sisters: Effie Lawrence, Alma Kennedy, Norene Barlow and Geraldine Crockett. Surviving Manuel is his two sons and their wives: John and Donna Eaton of Haskell, Arkansas, Ken and Janice Eaton of Leachville, three daughters and a son-in-law: Peggy and Vern Settlemoir of Sherwood, Arkansas, Carolyn Johnson of Rector and Sherry Gatewood of Bahrain, 16 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, three sisters: Earline Galbraith of Newport, Christine Adams of Michigan and Faye LeGrande of Illinois along with a host of other relatives and friends Funeral services will be Saturday, July 30, 2011 at 10 a.m. at the First General Baptist Church in Rector with Mark Book and Marston Carpenter officiating. The interment will be at Woodland Heights Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Irby Funeral Home in Rector. You may sign the register book at www.irbyfuneralhome.com.
