Dorothy Avaline Brewer

Dorothy Avaline Brewer, 92, of Mount Vernon passed away on Monday, June 13, 2011. She was born on Tuesday, May 6, 1919 in Mt. Vernon to the late Virgil Willis, Sr., and Ester (Stone) Terry. Avaline was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved her family and always made sure they were happy. She enjoyed cooking for everyone and when you visited her home there was always something good to eat. She made sure that no one went hungry and was well fed. She was of the Baptist faith. She is survived by three sons, Waymon Brewer (Cleo), Daymon Brewer (Patsy), and David Brewer (Kathy); six grandchildren, Terry Brewer (Reta), Greg Brewer, Paul Brewer (Norma), Mark Brewer (Sandy), Brad Brewer (Christian Caceres), and Chad Brewer (Suzie); eleven great-grandchildren, TaLisa Seaborn, Krystal Coran, Torren Brewer, Amanda Brewer, Kayla Brewer, Marcus Brewer, Maggie Brewer, Kyle Brewer, Hayley Brewer, Katie Brewer, and Morgan Brewer; four great-great-grandchildren; sister, Lois Smith; and brother, Berry and Betty Terry. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Vardmon Waldo "V.W." Brewer; three sisters, Willie Bell Heffington, Elsie Franzone, and Ione Huey; and three brothers, Harold Terry, Hardin Terry, and Virgil Terry, Jr. Services will be held at 10 a.m., on Thursday, June 16, 2011 at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home, Conway with Bill Griffith, Berry Terry, and Jake McCandless officiating. Burial will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park with her grandsons serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., on Wednesday, June 15, 2011.
