JOHN BURRELLE CORNELIUS, age 89, of North Little Rock, Ark. passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2011. He was born in Prescott, Ark. on Dec. 3, 1921 to Ruby Kate Cornelius and Arthur Tilman Cornelius. Burrelle was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Florece Thomas Cornelius; two sisters, Vivian Schindler and Linnie Jane Davis; and step brother Roy Dale Huffman. Mr. Cornelius is survived by his daughters, Bette Ann Cornelius and Cindy Jo White (Thomas Lee); and grandson Alexander Thomas White. In his last years, John also appreciated his special friendship with Jeanie Naramore. Burrelle was an Army veteran, honorably serving in WWII. Upon returning from the war he became a conductor and brakeman with the Missouri Pacific Railroad. He was a faithful member of Central Baptist Church North Little Rock for over 50 years, and will be missed greatly by the Ewton-Bradley Sunday School Class. During his years at church, Burrelle enjoyed cooking for his Sunday School class and churchwide functions. He was also a loyal 32nd Degree KCCH Mason & Consistry member with the Crescent Lodge. Funeral services will be held by Roller-Owens Funeral Home at Central Baptist Church, North Little Rock at 11 a.m., Monday, March 21, 2011 with Reverend Wyman Richardson officiating. Interment at Pinecrest Cemetery, Alexander, Ark. will follow the service. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m., Sunday, March 20, 2011 at Roller-Owens Funeral Home Chapel, 5509 JFK Blvd, North Little Rock, Ark. 72116 (501-791-7400).
