Edward Michael Nixon

Edward Michael Nixon, 68 of Jacksonville, died Tuesday, March 22, 2011 in North Little Rock. He was born August 18, 1942 in Bronx, New York to Fred and Marie Heatherson Nixon. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Amanda Lynn Nixon. He served in the United States Navy. He worked as a truck driver, and a union plumber. He was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church, and of the Hot Springs Bonsai Society. He enjoyed fishing, sprint car racing and Bonsai, and he loved his Sunday School Class. Edward was a stranger to no one. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Margarette Hendrickson Nixon, a daughter, Karen Cambridge, son-in-law, Jonathan Cambridge, a brother, Fred Nixon, several nieces and nephews, and a host of family and friends. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Friday, March 25, 2011 at Zion Hill Baptist Church with Terry Fortner officiating. Interment will follow in Stanfill Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home 501-982-2136.
