Bruce "HB" Smith

Bruce "HB" Smith of Little Rock, Arkansas formerly of Yell County, Arkansas went to be with God on May 21, 2011. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Darlene F. Smith; son and daughter-in-law, Justin B. Smith and Jennifer Smith of Mabelvale, Arkansas; son Ryan D. Smith of Little Rock, Arkansas, brother and sister-in-law, Guy E. Smith and Erma Smith of Fort Smith, Arkansas; and mother Zelta L. Smith of Charleston, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold J. Smith. He was an honorary canteen member of VFW Post 9095, and active as the president of the Central Arkansas Pod of Chili Appreciation Society International (CAP-CASI). He was a yearly competitor in the international chili cook-offs in Terlingua, Texas. HB loved music, and was a singer and guitarist for the band The Paperboys. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 25, 2011 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Ruebel Funeral Home.
