Marilyn Parkerson Hale

Mrs. Marilyn Parkerson Hale, 81, of Portland, died Sunday, November 13, 2011. Mrs. Hale was a native of Snyder and a resident of Portland for the past 64 years. She was a homemaker and the bookkeeper at the Farm Equipment Company for 25 years. She was a member of the Portland United Methodist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Dwain Hale in 2004 and her parents, Dennis & Geraldine Austin Parkerson. She is survived by a daughter, Janice H. Brooks of Portland; two brothers, J.L. Parkerson and wife, Christine, of Crossett and Jimmy Parkerson and wife, Jan, of Dermott; two sisters, Chris Mhoon of Joshua, Texas and Jo Wallace and husband, Robert, of Harlingen, Texas; three grandchildren, Steve Brooks and wife, Ann, of Hamburg; Mike Brooks and wife, Becky, and Missy Hicks and husband, Jimmy, all of Portland; seven great-grandchildren, Molly & Brooke Hicks, Josh Brooks and wife, Megan, Payton & Anna Brooks; Ben Stell and wife, Laura, and William Stell; two great-great-grandchildren, Bentley & Boyd Stell and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services are 10 a.m., Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at the Portland United Methodist Church with Rev. Terrie Lynn Bunnell officiating. Burial will be in the Portland Cemetery. Pallbearers are Steve Brooks, Mike Books, Jimmy Hicks, Josh Brooks, Payton Brooks, Ben Stell and William Stell. Memorials may be made to the Portland United Methodist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 400, Portland, Ark., or to the Portland Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 174, Portland, Ark. 71663. Visitation is 6-8 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.
