Fern Mount Quattlebaum

Fern Mount Quattlebaum, 81, of Alvin, Texas, formerly of Helena, died November 13, 2011 at her residence. She was born December 26, 1929 in Doniphan, Arkansas to the late Chester and Loyce Akridge Mount. She owned a shoe store in Helena AR for over 30 years before joining the American Cancer Society as an Area Director and as Wills & Planning Giving Director before retiring. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Michael E. Quattlebaum; and one sister Jean Mount Abbott. Survivors include one son, Todd Quattlebaum of Alvin, Texas; daughter, Michele Quattlebaum of Alvin and step-daughter, Carol Schoonmaker of Chino, Calif.; sisters, Linda Knake of Alvin and Glenda Nuckolls of Jacksonville, Ark.; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Visitation is Friday, November 18, 2011 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with funeral services being conducted at 1 p.m. all in the chapel of Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home.
