William McCoy Beck, 77, of Conway passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2011. Born in New Brighton, Pennsylvania, on May 20, 1934, he was a son to the late Arthur Dunlap and Thelma Marie McCoy Beck. William attended the University of Georgia, Duquesne University and graduated from Robert Morris University. He also received a certificate in Executive Growth from Eartham College. He began his career at Jones and Laughlan Steel Corp. in Pittsburgh, Pa. and retired from Robertson Ceco Corporation in Sheridan, Ark. William was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. A brother, Jim Beck also preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife JoAnn Shields Beck; son, Dr. William A. Beck and wife Laura of Springdale, Ark.; daughter Beth Anne Nabholz and husband Tommy of Conway; grandchildren: Mac and Patrick Nabholz, Murphy O'Connel and William Brady Beck, and Haylee Matthews; a brother, Robert Beck; a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Beck and several nieces and nephews. The family expresses their gratitude to all the wonderful nurses at Arkansas Hospice Care. A special thanks to Ola McGee, Chantal Hendrix and Steve Harper. Also to Chuck and Marie Kessler for their loving care given to William, and Pam for always making time for him on her day off. Services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, November 18, 2011 in the chapel of St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Father James Melnick as celebrant. Interment will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park in Conway. The Rosary will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, November 17, at Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Conway with visitation following.
