Anna Lou Harris

Anna Lou Harris of Little Rock, age 79, passed away Friday, Nov. 18, 2011. She was born Aug. 8, 1932 to Vester and Connie Grooms in Paragould, Ark. Anna was a loving mother and wife. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Dale Harris, her parents, her sisters Barbara Jane Tapp and Janiece Gassaway, and her brother-in-law, Charles Gassaway Sr. She is survived by her son, Tracy Harris of Little Rock; her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Barbara and Ross Holiman of Little Rock; her sister-in-law Bonnie Harris of Marietta, Ga.; her niece Vicki Williams of Little Rock; her nephews Jimmy and Charles Gassaway Jr. of Sherwood and Gordon Holiman of Marietta, Ga.; and many other nieces, nephews and cousins. Anna worked for many years at National Old Line Insurance Company. She then quit to have a child and raise a family. After a few years, she returned to work at MCPG at the campus of UAMS. She was the administrative assistant there until she retired in 1994. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church for many years. The family would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers, and cards and letters during Anna's and Dale's illnesses. The family would also like to thank everyone at Good Shepherd Nursing Home for their care of Anna for her time there. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011 in the Chapel of Immanuel Baptist Church, with Dr. Charles Barfield officiating. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
