Dr. Charles Harold "Doc" Harger

Dr. Charles Harold "Doc" Harger, 74, of Hot Springs, formerly Little Rock, Ark., died Friday, Nov. 18, 2011. He was born Oct. 16, 1937 in Fort Smith, Ark., to the late Charles Harold Harger Sr., and Clara Caskey Harger. Doc was proud to serve his country as a flight surgeon in the U.S. Air Force with two tours of duty during the Vietnam War. He worked at Baptist Medical Center as a Doctor of Anesthesiology from 1971-1997, serving as Chief Anesthesiologist from 1990-1991. Doc loved to fish and hunt. He was dearly loved and will be deeply missed. He is survived by his wife, Kay Fussell Harger; sons, Hal (Sherry) Harger and Charles Harger, both of Little Rock; grandchildren, Barrett and Sam Harger; brother-in-law, Jim (Stephanie) Fussell; sister-in-law, Cindy (Carl) Hartt; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be 2 p.m. today in Caruth-Hale Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lamar Trieschmann officiating. Full military honors will be provided by the Thaddeus H. Caraway VFW Post 2278.
