Gary Dewayne Huckabee, age 52, of Cabot, formerly of Texarkana, Ark., passed away at his home on Nov. 19, 2011. Gary was a man of few wants, simplicity at best. His desire in this life was a wife, family, and to treat people right. He and his beautiful wife Trina did just that. Two years ago they brought Sophia Grace into this world. A daughter! Gary was a proud father. The life he wanted was now coming into focus. This along with his family, business, an occasional hole of golf, hanging out with life long friends, and forever searching for abandoned golf balls seemed to be the validation he so desired. A few symptoms, a trip to the hospital, a diagnoses and prognosis of 3-4 weeks left. Gary was surrounded by family and friends and faced with a unique opportunity, the opportunity to say good-bye. For two weeks he worried about everyone else, making sure everyone else was comfortable. He was strong to the end and sad to leave his family behind. In the warmth of his own home, with loving hands we handed him off to our heavenly father. Gary passed peacefully. Gary is survived by his wife Trina Kyzer Huckabee of Cabot; daughter, Sophia Grace Huckabee of Cabot; parents, Donsald and Carolyn Huckabee of Texarkana; brothers, Jerry Huckabee and Paul Huckabee (Heather) of Texarkana; sister, Sandra Huckabee Stone (Rex) of Texarkana; father and mother-in-law, David and Pat Kyzer of Jacksonville; brothers-in-law, David Kyzer (Jr) of Jacksonville, Johnny Kyzer (Peggy) of Bryant and Shawn Kyzer (Kristal) of Jacksonville; a host of nieces and nephews and his "fur"st baby…Sam, a Jack Russell Terrier. Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011 at the Second Baptist Church in Jacksonville with Dr. Steve Walters officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. To sign the on line guest book visit www.mooresjacksonvillefuneralhome.com.
