Mary Grimmett Powell

Mary Grimmett Powell, age 82, of Magnolia, Ark., beloved by Christ, passed away Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011 at Magnolia Hospital. She was born Feb. 19, 1929 in Montgomery County, Miss., to Benjamin A. Austin and Carrie Channell Austin. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and served faithfully as long as she was able. She was preceded in death by her parents and husbands, Bobby Grimmett and Raymond (Rip) Powell. She is survived by one son: Dr. Michael A. Grimmett and wife Debbie Grimmett of Wortham, Texas. Two grandsons: Benjamin F. Grimmett of West Monroe, La., and Matt Grimmett of Bentonville, Ark. One sister, Dorothy and husband Lewis Ward of French Camp, Miss. One nephew Thomas Ward and family of French Camp, Miss., and six great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2011 in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Stamps, Ark., with Bro. Chris Lucy officiating under the direction of A.O. Smith Funeral Homes, Inc.
