Paul Mitcham Garrett

Paul Mitcham Garrett, 71, died instantly behind the wheel of his beloved Lotus Elan, Nov. 20, 2011, at Hyde Park, N.Y. He was born in Dumas, Ark., son of Elizabeth and Francis Garrett. Paul graduated from the University of Arkansas School of Architecture and worked for many years in New York City for Paul Rudolph and Peter Marino. He was passionate about jazz, Formula 1 racing, and art. He is missed by his cherished wife of 48 years, Janie Cook Garrett; his precious daughters, Elizabeth Milstein and son-in-law George of San Francisco, Calif., and Juliet Mager and son-in-law, Damian of New York, N.Y.; grandchildren, Josef, Greta and Lydia Milstein and Mia Mager; sisters Georgia Davis of Salinas, Calif., Julia Garrett of Little Rock, Ark., Jean Montero of Salinas, Calif., and Maysel Teeter and brother-in-law, Stan of Russellville, Ark. Visitation will be held on Monday, Nov. 28, 2011, 5-7 p.m. at the Gannon Funeral Home, 152 East 28 St, New York, N.Y., (212) 532-6579.
