Ronald Matthew Lee

Ronald Matthew Lee died on November 25, 2011. He was born on November 24, 1970 to Anne Scott Tate and the late Ronald Lee in Little Rock, Arkansas. He graduated from Little Rock Central High School in 1989. He is survived by his beloved mother, Anne Scott Tate and stepfather, Donald Tate of Denton, Texas; sister, Kai Len Lee of Memphis, Tenn.; stepbrother, Stewart Watson of Little Rock; and numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews across the country. Matt was a committed Godfather to Andrew Thrash Pickens. He was the grandson of the late Eugene and Gam Len Lee of Dumas, Ark. and Reverend and Mrs. Harould Scott of Clinton, Ark. He is preceded in death by his cherished father Ronald Lee and much-loved dog Dali. Matt was a film production graduate from State University of New York at Purchase class of 1994. After college, Matt enjoyed a prolific career, working nationally in film, television, music video, and event production. His credits include work for the Discovery Channel, ABC, CBS, C-Span, and a number of feature, documentary, and short films. Beginning in 2001, he travelled nationwide, producing and directing events at stadiums, arenas and other major venues. He was technically skilled and artistically gifted as a producer, writer, and director in various media. Matt last worked as the Education Technology Manager at Hendrix College from 2009 until 2011. During the course of his career, Matt lived and worked in New York, Houston, Los Angeles, Dallas, and Little Rock. Matt is legendary among his family and friends. He made an indelible impression wherever he went and moved easily among all types of people. His charm, intellect, and comic genius amazed those around him, making him rich in friends. He was always willing to console, listen, or offer his home to loved ones in need. Matt was proud of his Chinese and Southern heritage. He brought all of his experience and travel to bear in the way he lived his life, but never forgot his deep roots in Dumas, Pine Bluff, and Little Rock. Matt was a fantastic cook, and during football season if he was not at the stadium with his father cheering loudly for the Razorbacks, he could typically be found at home hosting the party and feeding everyone. It is difficult to quantify what Matt Lee meant to those that knew him. However, his loved ones know that we are not likely to witness such a shining star of energy and brilliance again. When we lost Matt, we lost the loudest and funniest person in the room. Above all, he loved his family and friends. We can all be grateful that we were lucky enough to know him. Funeral Services will be held 10 a.m., Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at the Quapaw Quarter United Methodist Church, 1601 South Louisiana, Little Rock, Ark. 72202. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Matt's name to Glory of Zion International youth ministry at www.gloryofzion.org. Online guestbook: www.rollerfuneralhomes.com/chenal.
