Tom Watson Pennington

Tom Watson Pennington, 97, of Holly Springs, died Friday, Sept. 30, 2011, at Dallas County Medical Center in Fordyce. He was born Sept. 2, 1914, in Calhoun County, Ark. He was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church and a retired sawyer. He is preceded in death by his parents, George Washington Pennington and Annie Mae Cathey Pennington; his wife, Elva Gladys Roberts Pennington; son, James Royce Pennington; brothers, Herbert, Clyde, and John Pennington; sister, Mary Ellen McAlister. He is survived by four sons, George Pennington of Holly Springs, Thomas Wayne Pennington of Camden, Bobby Dale Pennington and Benny Lamar Pennington, both of Holly Springs; four daughters, Martha Dianne Jackson of Pine Bluff, Patricia Ione Burke of Little Rock, Peggy Joyce Davis of Bearden, Mary Ruth Hogg of Holly Springs; one sister, Georgia Mae Ray of Bearden; 22 grandchildren, and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Sunday 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., at Benton Funeral Home in Bearden. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Monday, at Holly Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Travis Roberts and Rev.
