Lyman Albert Womack, 69, of Youngsville, died Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at home with his family by his side. He was born in Dardanelle, Ark. to the late Varina Hovis and Lyman Odell Womack. He was preceded in death by sister Phyllis Womack, and brothers, Alvis and Joel Womack. Lyman worked for many years with GTE and retired from Nortel Network as a Program Manager after many years of service. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and belonged to the Silver Lake Hunting Club. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren, "they were the sunshine of his heart." Lyman is survived by "the love of his life," Brenda Hall of the home; children, Joel Womack of Buffalo Junction, Va., Lisa Blackwood and husband, Steve of Raleigh, N.C. and Cindy Lindley and significant other, Glen Conyers of Apex, N.C.; step-children, Stacey Markham and husband, Mickey of Henderson, N.C. and Gary Millsap and wife, Tammy of Wilkesboro, N.C.; 11 grandchildren; brothers and sisters, David Womack and wife, Patsy of Houston, Ark., Danny Womack of Harrison, Ark., Willa Kennedy and husband, Ken of Gentry, Ark., Rosa Mae Williams and husband, Duane of Buckeye, Ariz., Kit Womack and wife, Peggy of Cumming, Ga., Joan Johnson and husband, Marvin of Springdale, Ark. and Stephen Womack of Ozone, Ark.; special friends, Jorge Landeras and Jack Fields; all of his brothers from the Silver Lake Hunting Club; many nieces and nephews. He is loved by many. A celebration of Lyman's life will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday evening, October 22, 2011 in the Chapel at Gum Spring Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 10048 Gum Spring Road, Dardanelle, Arkansas. Officiating the service, Rev. Earl Stapleton and Rev. Charles King. Honorary Pallbearers: nephews; David Womack, Randy Womack, and Tim Morris. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at the "Fulton Family Cemetery." In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Wake County, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, N.C. 27607-6372. Flowers may be sent to the church the morning of the service. Friends may visit with the family following the service at Gum Spring Cumberland Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall, 10048 Gum Spring Road, Dardenille, Arkansas.
