Bobby Vassaur

Bobby Thomas Vassaur, of Pine Bluff, more recently of Cabot, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, Oct. 20, 2011, at Cabot Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born Dec. 10, 1925, to Robert H. and Annie Riddick Lancaster, in the Troy community of Ouachita County, Ark. She lived many years in Pine Bluff and was a member of the Church Of Christ. Ms. Vassaur was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, William E. (Gene) Thomas; and seven siblings. She retired from AT & T and enjoyed her retirement years traveling with her husband, Joe Vassaur as a member of the Cotton Pickers RV club. She is survived by her son Wayne (Terrie), of Russellville; son Raymond (Sandra), of Cabot; three grandchildren, Matthew Thomas (Tami), of Cabot, Christy Kittinger (Brandon), of Vilonia, and John Thomas (Shiane), of Slidell, La.; five great-grandchildren, and a sixth great-grandchild expected to enter this world in March, 2012. The family would like to thank the staff of Cabot Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center as well as Arkansas Hospice for their loving care over the past three years. Services by Thomas Funeral Service of Cabot and burial 1 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2011, at the Troy/Riddick Cemetery in Troy, Ark., off Highway 57 So. between Camden and Stephens in Ouachita County.
