John Timothy Brotherton

JOHN TIMOTHY BROTHERTON, 60, passed away on Oct. 20, 2011, at Hospice Home Care in Little Rock, Ark. He was diagnosed with brain cancer in July 2011. Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Kathy; two loving daughters, Hannah and Amy; his big brother, Mike; younger brother, Dave; and his beloved Out of the Woods rescue dogs, Monkey and Einstein. Tim was preceded in death by his father, Dr. William Albert Brotherton, and mother, Sophia Clark Brotherton. Tim was born in Memphis, Tenn., on Nov. 3, 1950. He graduated from Overton High School in Memphis in 1968 and attended the University of Memphis, where he met his wife, Kathy. In 1973, he received his Bachelor of Science in engineering. Tim continued his education at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, where he received his Masters in business. He was a longtime employee of Entergy and was currently employed by Cushman & Wakefield at Entergy. Tim was an avid runner, completing a total of 11 marathons. He enjoyed playing golf with his friends, listening to music, and playing his bass guitar. He also loved to travel and especially enjoyed his summer vacations, hiking in the mountains of Colorado with his good friends and relatives, Patty and Tim Regenold, and his wife, Kathy. He was a loving husband, a wonderful friend, and a caring father. His positive attitude, big heart, and witty sense of humor will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2011, at 1 p.m., at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, located at 13801 Chenal Parkway in Little Rock, Ark., 501-224-8300.
