Joyce Evelyn Darnell

Joyce Evelyn Justis Darnell, of Monticello, Ark., formerly of Sheridan, was born March 3, 1939, at Hollenburg, Kan., the daughter of the late Vernon and Ada Davis Justis. Before her health declined, she attended Second Baptist Church in Monticello, was retired custodian at Drew County Courthouse, and enjoyed reading and watching Westerns. Mrs. Darnell died Friday, Oct. 21, 2011, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff at the age of 72. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Darnell; siblings, Arlene Mason, George Justis, Jean Burlingame, and Joann Karr. Survivors include her sons, Allen Haralson, of Searcy and Jeff Darnell, of Star City; daughter, Debbie Haralson, of Monticello; sister, Lavon Mason, of Fairbury, Neb.; grandchildren, Lindsey Hancock, Kacie Hancock, Holly Hancock, Paige Haralson, Alley Haralson, Lexie Haralson, Ty Haralson, Cheyenne Darnell, Tyler Barton; great grandchild, Lola Cunningham. Graveside funeral services will be held, Monday, Oct. 24, 2011, at Moore's Chapel Cemetery near Sheridan with Bro. Johnny Wall officiating.
