Luther W. "Luke" Bledsoe

Mr. Luther W. "Luke" Bledsoe, age 87, of Forrest City, died Tuesday at his home in Forrest City. He had been in poor health for the past three months. Mr. Bledsoe was born March 25, 1924, in Haynes, and was the son of Luther P. Bledsoe and Robbie Tyler Bledsoe. He lived in St. Francis County most all of his life, was a Veteran of World War II, was an electrician, was a member of the I.B.E.W., and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Mr. Bledsoe married Corinne Hurt in 1950, and after 50 years of marriage she preceded him in death in 2001. He is survived by several nieces and nephews and a host of close friends. He had one son, Perry Bledsoe, who preceded him in death. Services for Mr. Bledsoe will be held at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 2 p.m., Friday with burial in Forrest Park Cemetery.
